Mountaineer Brewfest Pops-up at Wheeling Heritage Port

The Mountaineer Brewfest pops-up at West Virginia’s historic brewing capital, Wheeling, on Saturday, August 21st, for its 2021 festivities. Breweries and festival staff will be pouring and talking beer from 4 pm to 10 pm.  This year’s festival once again brings an array of the mountain state’s best craft and microbreweries to Wheeling’s award-winning Heritage Port Waterfront.

The 2021 sponsors Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack and The UPS Store, are excited to announce fifteen microbreweries at this year’s festival.  There will be an additional 50 domestic craft beers available at the beer garden. Festival organizer Jeff Hayes notes, “it has been a difficult year for the service and hospitality industries, we are pleased to have the opportunity to welcome back so many breweries to the Friendly City.”  A complete list of attending breweries is located at the bottom of the article.

Hayes continues that “it has been a crazy year preparing for the festival.”  He says, “At first we didn’t know if we would be allowed to host the festival, then we were scrambling to find supplies and book vendors. Now everyone tells us to expect our largest crowd ever. We are ready, but it has been crazy.”

As always, the festival supports a local charity.  This year’s charity is the Ohio Valley Chapter of A Special Wish Foundation, which is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children under the age of 21 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening disorder.

“The Mountaineer Brewfest committee is so delighted to be able to announce that proceeds from the seventh Brewfest, along with all tips received in our Beer Garden manned by volunteers from the Wheeling chapter of the Circus Saints & Sinners, will go to the Ohio Valley Chapter of A Special Wish Foundation,” states Hayes.

Founder Jeff Hayes noted, “We have had some incredible performances at the Brewfest in the past, but I think this year will be the best line up we’ve ever had. The festival always showcases the best music in the region. Local acoustic rockers The Muddle perform for our VIP hour, then kick off our main stage at 4:30 with the fantastic Hoard & Jones for all our country fans. We are bringing back everyone’s favorite from Pittsburgh, Jeff Jimerson and Airborne at 6:30 and end the evening with our Headliner from Cleveland, Trailer Park Ninjas.”

The August 21st, 2021 festival hours are: VIP entry 3:00 pm, General Admission entry at 4:00 pm, the festival ends at 10:00 pm. You must be 21 years of age with a valid photo ID to enter. The festival is a rain or shine event. Special early ticket pricing is available June 1st through July 31st; General Admission tickets are $30, VIP tickets are $70. Ticket prices increase after July 31st, General Admission will be $40, and VIP will be $80. Designated Driver tickets are also available.
