Did you know that 1 in 5 people live with a mental health condition, but only 45% of adults and 51% of youth get treatment. The average delay between symptom onset and treatment is 11 years which increases the likelihood that individuals who have a delay in treatment or don’t receive treatment will experience a mental health crisis. Suicide, which is one potential mental health crisis, is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10-34.

The Health Plan and NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Greater Wheeling want to change these statistics by holding an outreach event featuring local area food trucks to raise awareness for mental health at our first ever Wheeling Food Truck Festival in May for Mental Health Awareness Month.
