Wrestlers only from these counties in Ohio and WV are eligible to compete:
Ohio- Athens, Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Tuscarawas, Washington
WV- Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio, Pleasants, Tyler, Wetzel, Wirt, Wood
Registration:
Coaches will email in team list with division and weight class for each wrestler by Thursday 1/27 at 10 pm to ricroe7408911970@gmail.com. Individual wrestlers will need to email division and weight class by Wednesday 1/26 at 10 pm.
Awards:
-Top 4 finishers in open divisions will receive OVC trophies. 5th-8th in open divisions will receive OVC medals.
-Top 4 placers in Novice Divisions will receive OVC Medals
Team Awards:
-Trophies will be awarded to the top 2 teams in each of the 3 divisions based on placement points only.
-Divisions (All-Star, Community Large Team, Community Small Team)
-Community teams can have a maximum of 3 wrestlers on their roster that do not attend their school system.
-Placement Points Open (Top 😎 = 16 – 12 – 9 – 7 – 5 – 3 – 2 – 1
-Placement Points Novice (Top 4) = 5 – 3 – 2 – 1
**THERE ARE NO PLACEMENT POINTS FOR JUNIOR HIGH WRESTLERS. THEY DO NOT COUNT IN THE TEAM SCORES. JUNIOR HIGH DIVISION IS AN OPEN TOURNAMENT THAT IS OPEN TO ANY WRESTLER FROM ANY STATE OR COUNTY**
Entry Fee:
Each wrestler will pay $25 entry fee. Entry fees will be collected by your coach and paid all together when they arrive at the tournament. Individual wrestlers will pay entry fee when they arrive for the tournament. WRESTLERS CAN ONLY WRESTLE IN ONE DIVISON AND WEIGHT CLASS.
Admission:
$10 Adult. $5 Student. Under 5 = FREE.
Coaches:
Teams will have 1 free coach admission for every 4 wrestlers on their roster.
Officials:
The tournament will be officiated by the West Liberty University wrestling team.
Match Length:
3 -1 minute periods (Choice for 2nd & 3rd periods). 10 pt TECH FALL. OT 1 minute sudden victory if no points scored / 30 sec. tie breaker. Choice to wrestler that scored first, if 0-0 = flip. NOVICE MATCHES = ALL RESTARTS NEUTRAL.
Rules:
Modified Scholastic Rules will be used for all divisions. Tournament will be double elimination or round robin. Tournament Director reserves the right to combine weight classes upon need.
