Halloween is taking over Oglebay Park Resort this October, and there are two big reasons to make plans for a visit.
Boo at the Zoo and Fright Lights return for three weekends of costumes, candy, glowing lights and spooky adventures, giving families and thrill seekers plenty of ways to celebrate the season.
The Halloween fun takes place October 9–11, 16–18 and 23–25, with activities happening throughout the park.
Boo at the Zoo
A favorite fall tradition, Boo at the Zoo transforms Oglebay Good Zoo into a Halloween adventure for the whole family.
Kids can come dressed in costume, explore the zoo, visit the animals and collect treats at themed trick-or-treat stations along the way. The event also features colorful Halloween displays, themed animal enrichment and a family-friendly Halloween Train Ride.
Children ages 3–12 receive a complimentary treat bag with admission, while additional treat bags are available for adults and children ages 13 and older.

Fright Lights
When the sun goes down, the Halloween fun continues at Schenk Lake with the return of Fright Lights, running from 6–10 p.m.
The free synchronized light and music show brings Halloween displays to life around the lake and surrounding hillside, creating a colorful nighttime experience for visitors of all ages.
But if you’re looking for something a little scarier, there’s a new attraction this year.
Enter the House of Screams—if you dare!
The all-new House of Screams takes the haunted-house experience to the next level with more scares, surprises and spine-tingling suspense. The attraction is recommended for brave souls ages 13 and older and requires a separate timed-entry ticket.
Reserved tickets are available here.
Fright Lights also offers plenty of other ways to enjoy the evening, including:
- Haunted Heights Aerial Challenge Course
- Spider Climbing Rock Wall
- Illuminated Shimmering Swan Boats
- Halloween-themed Glow Putt
- Spooky Storytime
- Little Ghouls’ Play Zone
- Seasonal Fright Bites
Select attractions can be purchased individually or enjoyed with an activity wristband. The House of Screams requires a separate ticket and is not included with the wristband.
