Pride in Wheeling 2026 is right around the corner. This event is organized by Orrick to help raise awareness of inclusion and LGBTQIA+ issues in our community. We really appreciated your help with previous years’ events, and we hope you’ll join us again this year.

 

Join Us Again This Year

 

When: Friday, June 12 from 8AM – 5PM

 

What: Creating murals and cleaning litter at Wheeling Heritage Port; restoration projects at Woodsdale & Greggsville playground areas (tentative)

 

Where: Heritage Port is our homebase

 

How: Complete the City of Wheeling’s Release from Liability waiver and select the timeframe you’d like to volunteer.

 

You may remember last year’s event where 70 volunteers contributed a combined 200+ service hours to the Heritage Port, Trail and Playground. Volunteers included Orrick team members working alongside employees from other Wheeling-area businesses such as WesBanco, NAMI Greater Wheeling, Crittenton Services and Dinsmore. Throughout the day volunteers:

 

·         Painted three inspirational murals guided by local artists Amanda Carney, Vondel Bell and Mindi Yarbrough.

 

·         Picked up trash along the Heritage Trail, within the Playground and along the Ohio river.

 

·         Touched up and protected our prior murals throughout the city with anti-graffiti coating.

 

And Wheeling Mayor Denny Magruder proclaimed the day as “Pride in Wheeling Day” in recognition of our collective efforts. Check out this local news coverage of our 2025 event.

Pride in Wheeling is a partnership between Orrick and The Friendlier City Project, YWCA and many other area groups. It is a strong expression of Orrick’s core values and has fast become one of our signature Orrick Cares initiatives.
